A no-code app builder lets you build a functioning web or mobile app — with a real database, logic, and integrations — through a visual interface instead of writing code.
No-code tools split along a clear axis: flexibility versus speed-to-launch. Bubble sits at the flexible end, capable of building genuinely complex web applications with custom logic at the cost of a steeper learning curve. Glide and Adalo prioritise speed — turning a spreadsheet or simple data model into a polished, usable app in a fraction of the time, but with a harder ceiling once your requirements get complex. FlutterFlow occupies a unique middle ground, visually building real Flutter apps and exporting clean, readable code — a genuine bridge between no-code and traditional development rather than a fully separate paradigm.
What are you looking for?
I need to build something genuinely complex, not just a simple app
Bubble is the most flexible no-code platform available, capable of custom logic, databases, and API integrations that most other no-code tools simply can't handle — worth the steeper learning curve if your requirements demand it.

I have a spreadsheet and want a usable app fast
Glide turns a Google Sheet or Airtable base into a polished, mobile-first app in minutes, not weeks. The tradeoff is a lower ceiling on custom logic compared to Bubble — fine for many internal tools and simple customer-facing apps.

I want an exit path to real code as my product grows
FlutterFlow visually builds genuine Flutter apps and exports clean, readable code you can hand to developers later — a meaningfully different proposition than tools whose output can't be extended outside their own platform.

Bubble and FlutterFlow apps have shipped to real, meaningfully-sized user bases — this category has matured well past "prototype only." That said, scalability and performance ceilings are real and tool-specific; very high-traffic or computationally intensive products eventually outgrow most no-code platforms and need a custom-coded rebuild.
Bubble builds genuinely custom web applications with complex logic, its own database, and API integrations — closer to traditional development without the code. Glide is built specifically around turning existing spreadsheet data (Google Sheets, Airtable) into a polished mobile app fast, with far less custom logic capability but a much shorter time to a working product.
It depends on the tool. Most no-code platforms (Bubble, Glide, Adalo, Softr) keep your app fully inside their own system with no code export — switching means rebuilding from scratch elsewhere. FlutterFlow is the notable exception, exporting real Flutter code you can take to any developer or hosting provider.
No — that's the entire premise of the category, and all six tools here are designed for non-developers to build something functional. That said, a logical mindset (the kind needed for spreadsheet formulas) goes a long way, and Bubble in particular rewards understanding concepts like conditional logic and data relationships even without writing syntax.
Airtable is fundamentally a database with a spreadsheet interface — use it as the data layer. Glide and Softr are both built to sit on top of an Airtable (or Google Sheets) base and turn that data into a usable mobile app or client portal. Many real no-code products are actually Airtable + Glide or Airtable + Softr combined, not either alone.
How these scores are calculated
No-code platform scores are based on time-to-first-working-app for representative use cases, ceiling on custom logic complexity before hitting platform limits, native integration breadth, and published pricing at growing usage tiers as of 2026.
